Biography
Dr Orchisama Das joined King’s College London as a Research Associate in the Department of Engineering in August, 2024. Her research area is Audio Signal Processing with a focus on immersive audio technologies.
Orchisama graduated with a Bachelor’s in Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering in 2016. From 2016 – 2021, she was a PhD student at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University, during which she did research internships at Tesla and Meta Reality Labs, and was a visiting researcher at IRCAM and TU Berlin. From 2021 – 2022, Orchisama was a Research Fellow at the Institute of Sound Recording at the University of Surrey. From 2022 – 2024, Orchisama was a Senior Audio Research Scientist at Sonos, and worked on spatial audio rendering for Sonos’ flagship headphones.
In her spare time, Orchisama plays the guitar, bass and mandolin and likes to write and produce music.
