Biography
Dr von Seth was awarded his PhD in Comparative Literature in May 2022. His dissertation, "Outsiders and Others" (2022), is a queer reading of Hermann Hesse’s writing - the first of its kind. After being awarded his PhD, Dr von Seth has taught in Comparative Literature and Gender Studies at various universities in Sweden (Umeå University, Uppsala University, and Södertörn University). He currently holds a post doc at the Centre for Gender Research at Uppsala University and is a Visiting Research Fellow at KCL until Summer 2026.

My research interests are at the intersection of literature, cinema, and queer theories. I am also interested in masculinities, disability studies, human-animal studies, and the homosexual emancipation movement and sexology discourse in the German-speaking world before the Second World War.
