Biography
Paige Nguyen is a final year PhD candidate in the Department of War Studies, in conjunction with the Department of Political Science at the National University of Singapore. Her research focuses on the privatisation of national security intelligence, particularly the outsourcing of emerging technologies to the private sector.
Previously, Paige worked as a researcher for 7 years at the National University of Singapore in sizeable Ministry-of-Education-funded projects on US-China rivalry, civil-military relations, and critical supply chains.
She holds a Master’s degree with Distinction in International Political Economy from City University London, and a Bachelor's degree from University of Portsmouth.

Paige’s current research focuses on the outsourcing of AI algorithms by US intelligence agencies to private companies, applying international relations theory of epistemic community to explain this trend and assess the role of the private sector in contemporary security.
