Biography

Paramjit is an Academic Skills Tutor at King’s. She supports students on their academic journey mostly through one-to-one appointments and workshops. She values working with students to help them see their own potential and encourage them to see the value in their own student voice.

Paramjit completed her undergraduate degree in Applied Linguistics and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and was an international student in Sweden where she studied Sustainability in Education. Her teacher training was embedded in her undergraduate studies. She completed her DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in 2011 and her Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages in 2015.

Paramjit’s experience of teaching (international) students started as a support teacher in Sweden in 2008. She came back to London and moved into working within English language teaching after completing her undergraduate degree. She also did some teaching within primary and secondary education in Thailand in Summer 2014. After this, she started teaching academic skills on in-sessional, pre-sessional and foundation courses in London.

Paramjit is a fan of reading fiction and comics. She spends her free-time making her own art in the zine format and enjoying the art-making scene in London.
