Biography
Paul Spanswick took up post of an indepenedent member of the College Council in August 2025.
Paul Spanswick is a highly experienced global financial services professional with extensive Chair, Board and Executive Committee experience, covering business strategy, finance, risk management, operations, organisational and technological transformation, governance, regulatory compliance, crisis management, stakeholder engagement, and complex program delivery.
Paul spent 35 years as a senior executive in a number of Global Banks, including 26 years at Nomura Holdings Inc. where he held various CFO, COO and CAO positions. Prior to retiring, Paul was Nomura's Group Administrative Officer (CAO), based in Tokyo and a member of the firm Group Executive Committee. During his executive career, Paul held Board positions in the UK, Germany, Luxembourg, Guernsey, India, America and Japan.
Paul is currently Chair of Teenage Cancer Trust, a leading UK charity, Chair of Levrara Consulting, a Non Executive Director of AI Global Investments UK Ltd and an advisor to Advent International and Triple PE.
Paul is a qualified accountant and holds a BA in Accounting and Finance from Leeds Polytechnic.
