Professor Mitsuhisa Fukutomi

Mitsuhisa Fukutomi is Professor of International Politics at the Institute for the Study of Global Issues and Graduate School of Social Sciences, Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, Japan. His research and teachings are International Justice Theory, International Security, Humanitarian  Intervention and Global Issues(G-Zero World). He has cross-regional expertise, having conducted extensive field research in Middle East, Europe and United States.

He was Principal Economist, Middle East and Africa department, Japan Center for International Finance (2009.04-2012.03), Associate Professor at Graduate School of Social Sciences, Hitotsubashi University(2012.04-2015.03 ) and Visiting Research Scholar at The Orfalea Center for Global & International Studies, University of California, Santa Barbara in U.S. (2015.08-2016.03).He is also a member of the examination committee, the Council for International Relations, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and the Council for Social Sciences, National Institution for Academic, Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education in Tokyo, Japan.

Professor Fukutomi is holder of an PhD in International Relations from L'Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po Paris) as well as BA, MA and PhD in Politics from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan.
