Biography
Dr Pushkar Wadke is an IP & Licensing Manager at King's Innovation Catalyst.
Pushkar obtained a PhD in embedded systems and process engineering (interdisciplinary project) from University of Sheffield followed by the Post doctorate from Scottish Association of Marine Science. He was involved in commercialisation of his research and was an inventor of ‘Sea Ice Mass Balance Buoys’ (Commercialised via SRSL Ltd)).
Pushkar has twenty years of experience in technology commercialisation. He worked at Tech transfer teams at various Russell group universities such as University of Manchester, Queen Mary University of London to name few. In the process, Pushkar has spun out several academic spinouts, was a nominee director/advisor on multiple spinout boards, raised venture investments, scaled-up ventures and launched product to market. He has concluded several IP licences and corporate alliances worth multi-million pounds.
Pushkar has an extensive experience in strategy and change management and was a Chief Technology Transfer Officer at National Oceanography Centre (NOC) and a member of the NOC Executive Committee that led the change (NOC was part of UKRI (NERC) until recently and became an independent Charity (Company limited by guarantee) in Nov 2019). Prior to that, he carried out a complex technology transfer strategic review and recommended forward looking initiatives to support an entrepreneurial ecosystem at the Imperial College London. He is currently independent Non-Executive Director of SAMS Enterprise Ltd.
Pushkar joined Kings College London in 2021.
