Biography

Rachel Aukett is a Senior Lecturer in Languages Education.

Rachel specialises in languages teacher education across both primary and secondary phases working at both postgraduate and undergraduate level with German, French and Spanish as specialist languages. Her publications include BBC Bitesize German for GCSE, teaching resources for the BBC TV language learning series ”Hallo aus Berlin” and "Deutsch Magazin" current editorial work for print and online publications with their languages association, ALL (the Association for Language Learning).

Rachel has a Masters Degree in Education Management with a special focus on primary languages.

Her current areas of academic interest include: Assessment for Learning in languages education; the role of motivation in successful teacher development; use of online resources for professional dialogue and continuing professional development; facilitating successful transition in languages education between primary and secondary phases.

She hosts a social media account for sharing research and languages related information @themflhive.
