Biography
Rafiul Karim joined King’s College London Language Centre in 2011. He specialises in English Language Teaching (ELT) and holds a wide range of academic and professional qualifications. He was awarded a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (English Law) by the Institute of Linguists, UK (2003); an MA in Islamic Studies from The Muslim College, London (2004); and a Postgraduate Diploma in International ELT and Applied Language Studies from London Metropolitan University (2005). He later obtained the IoLET Level 7 Diploma in Translation from the Institute of Linguists (2012), an LLB (Hons) from the University of Hertfordshire (2018), and is currently completing both the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) and an LLM at City, University of London (2025). He speaks Bengali and English.
Rafiul teaches Bengali at King's Language Centre, delivering courses that develop students’ linguistic competence and cultural understanding. His teaching approach integrates communicative and functional methodologies, fostering confidence and practical proficiency in real-world contexts.
Alongside his teaching, Rafiul has a strong academic and professional interest in linguistics, legal translation, and intercultural communication. His background in law and translation further enhances his interdisciplinary approach to language education.
