Biography

Rahima Begum is the Director of Innovation Transformation at King’s College London. In this role, she leads initiatives to advance the university’s innovation strategy and delivery plan, reporting to the Executive Director of the Research Management & Innovation Directorate, Dr Bryony Wakefield, and the Assistant Principal (Innovation), Professor Sebastien Ourselin.

Since joining King’s in 2018, Rahima has driven high-impact initiatives within the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences. She has significantly strengthened the school’s funding portfolio, expanded its collaborative networks, and helped enhance King’s reputation as a leader in healthcare engineering innovation.

Prior to joining King’s, Rahima worked at University College London (UCL), where she completed her postdoctoral research in neuroscience, and worked within the NHS. She holds a PhD from UCL’s School of Pharmacy and an undergraduate degree in Physiology from the University of St Andrews.
