Biography
Rob is an emerging scholar interested in the relationships between climate change, national security and international order. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow under the Ax:son Johnson Initiative for Statecraft and Diplomacy at the Centre for Grand Strategy.
He is a recent graduate of Aberystwyth University’s International Politics Department, where he carried out research examining naval responses to climate change in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. Prior to commencing his Fellowship, Rob worked as a Lecturer in Defence Studies Education at KCL’s Defence Studies Department, where he taught trainee staff officers courses on international relations and military history.
Rob is using his fellowship to pursue a broader project examining climate change’s impacts on the project of Indo-Pacific order. He’s also pursuing work examining the construction of climate change as a national-security problem, and the development of the Indo-Pacific as a theatre of strategic competition.
