Research Assistant

Biography

Rubbia joined Kings College London in 2021. She is currently working as a research worker assisting on the “Safewards in children and young people” project. This project aims to evaluate the implementation of the Safewards model within 20 inpatient children and young people wards across England.

Rubbia has previously worked on the “Be FINE: Black Families Involvement in New E-learning” research study at King’s College London.

Prior to joining King’s, Rubbia has worked as a mental health worker within NHS services. She holds a Masters in Psychiatric Research and a PGDip. in Cultural Psychology and Psychiatry. Additionally, supporting the mental wellbeing of vulnerable groups such as refugees & low-income families has been at the forefront of community projects Rubbia has led and participated in both within the UK and abroad in countries including Greece, Morocco, Nepal, Tanzania & Turkey.

The Eating Disorders Research Group aims to find out more about the neurobiological, genetic and psychological causes and consequences of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and other eating disorders, and to use that knowledge to develop new and better treatments.
