About

Salma joined King’s in 2013 and is Marketing & Licensing Manager within the IP & Licensing Team, part of King’s Innovation Catalyst.

She is responsible for IP management, marketing, and commercialisation including deal transactions for IP portfolio under her management.

Salma’s first degree was MSci Medicinal Chemistry from University College London (UCL), following which she completed her PhD in Organic Chemistry at UCL.

Following her PhD, she worked as Technical Sourcing Manager at GSK, working on early-stage drug development projects, sourcing GMP starting materials for regulatory toxicology and early phase clinical trials. She then worked as Clinical Outsourcing Manager at Roche and Takeda, working with clinical project leaders, clinical CROs and vendors responsible for running outsourced clinical trials.

Salma has also worked in Finance sector managing Cash and Self-Service operations for Barclays Africa. She was a Business Development Manager at Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), where she was responsible for marketing and licensing ICR inventions and technologies to collaborators, licensees and/or investors.
