Biography
Dr Sam McCann is a Postdoctoral Research Associate on the INDiGO trial, as part of the Sophie Moore Research Group. Sam’s main research interest is supporting early child development, with a strong focus on the impact of undernutrition in infancy on long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes. She currently leads the implementation and management of neurodevelopmental measures within the INDiGO trial.
Sam completed her PhD in Global Health at King’s (2019-2021), prior to which she worked within the group as a Research Assistant, based in The Gambia, where she led the day-to-day running of the BRIGHT study (2016-2018). Sam has an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a BSc in Medical Neuroscience.
