Biography

Sandra Dyer is a full-time funded PhD student based at the Cicely Saunders institute at Kings College London. Sandra has extensive experience in the care of patients with long term conditions having worked in community/primary care settings for most of her NHS career She has a BSc in Community Nursing/SPQ District Nurse, and MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice. She is also a part time Clinical Advisor for Primary Care Nursing for Wessex Cancer Alliance.

Sandra has extensive experience in the care of patients with long term conditions having worked in community/primary care settings for most of her NHS career. She has a BSc in Community Nursing/SPQ District Nurse, and MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice and is an independent Prescriber.

Sandra is passionate about developing primary care nursing and advanced nursing practice to ensure that the unique value that nursing brings to healthcare is both recognised and utilised, particularly in relationship to cancer survivorship, multi morbidity and palliative care. Additionally, she is committed to health equity, recognising the fundamental impacts of the social determinants of health.
