Biography
Sandra Is a senior laboratory instructor in the Department of Chemistry, King's College London. In this role, she supervises the undergraduate laboratory practical sessions, demonstrating and supporting the students.
Sandra graduated with a BSc in Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. She continued her studies and gained an MSc and PhD in Pharmacology from King's College London.
She then worked as a post-doctoral researcher in Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at King's College London. Her interests have always been aligned to laboratory-based learning and she moved to the Chemistry Department as a Senior Technician before taking on the role of laboratory instructor.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, prepare and deliver taught practical activities in the chemical sciences
- Mark and assess lab work and provide feedback to students
- Contribute to outreach activities in the Chemistry department
- Ensure the safety of staff and students in the laboratory
