With over a decade of experience in higher education, Sean brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his work in equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).

As the LGBTQIA+ Lead within the EDI team, Sean plays a pivotal role in shaping inclusive policies and practices across the institution. He is responsible for developing and delivering a wide range of training programmes—both in-person and virtual—on topics such as inclusive language, LGBTQIA+ allyship, unconscious bias, and mental health awareness. He also designs bespoke workshops and resources tailored to specific teams, departments, or challenges.

In addition to training facilitation and development, Sean leads on creating action plans and strategies that embed EDI principles across the university. He works closely with stakeholders across faculties and professional services to ensure that EDI is integrated into everyday practices. His approach is rooted in collaboration, empowerment, and long-term culture change.

Sean is also a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Instructor and a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, sexual health education, and mental health awareness. Beyond his formal role, he has served as co-lead of Proudly King’s, the university’s LGBTQIA+ staff network, supporting peer engagement, events, and policy consultation.
