Biography

Sergio Villicaña Muñoz is a geneticist with a PhD in genetics and epigenetics from King’s College London. His research focuses on DNA methylation quantitative trait loci (meQTLs) and the interplay between genetic variation and epigenetic regulation. He has a strong foundation in statistics and computational genomics, and his work spans from epigenetic mechanisms to causal inference in complex traits. His broader scientific interests include the relationship between genetic and epigenetic variation, disease risk, and human evolution.
