Sevgi Bektaş

Biography

Sevgi joined King’s College London in October 2021 as a PhD student to continue her studies on disgust and self-disgust in eating disorders. Prior to joining the Eating Disorders Research Group, Sevgi worked as a psychologist in the Psychosomatic Unit of the Ankara University School of Medicine Psychiatry Department (2018-2021) and obtained her master's degree in clinical psychology at the University of Hacettepe, Turkey.

The Eating Disorders Research Group aims to find out more about the neurobiological, genetic and psychological causes and consequences of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and other eating disorders, and to use that knowledge to develop new and better treatments.
