Biography

Sha joined the Institute of Contemporary British History in 2016. Her doctorate study focuses on the life experience of Chinese female immigrants in Britain after 1945. This research attempts to fill the void in historical accounts of Chinese women’s migration experience with assistance from archival documents and oral history testimonies. Sha holds a MRes in Historical Research from the Institute of Historical Research, University of London with a dissertation on British middle class women’s emigration in the 19th century and a MA in English Language and Literature (Culture Studies) from Shanghai International Studies University.
