Biography

Dr Sham Qayyum is Lecturer in Property and Trusts Law at The Dickson Poon School of Law. Before joining King's, Dr Qayyum lectured at SOAS University of London.

Research interests

Dr Qayyum’s research interests lie in equity and the law of trusts, and modern legal history. He is particularly interested in the historical development of equitable institutions (such as the trust and the Chancery), and the theory of equity. In relation to the latter, his interest extends beyond english law to include the examination of equity in Roman Law, Jewish halacha, Hindu dharma, Christian biblical canon and Islamic shariah.
