Biography

Dr Mehta  is a Senior Clinical Teacher, (Deputy Programme Director for the MSc in Aesthetic Dentistry)  and a panel member for the King’s College London Research and Ethics Committee.  He has been teaching at King’s College London since 2006

Dr Mehta graduated Dentistry with Distinction from King’s College London (1996), having also attained a BSc in Biomedical Sciences in 1993 (First Class Honours) and a Masters in Clinical Dentistry with Distinction in Prosthodontics (2005). He holds Fellowships with, the FGDP UK, International College of Dentists, Royal College of Surgeons & Physicians (Glasgow) and Royal College of Surgeons (England).

Dr Mehta is the Senior Clinical Advisor to the General Dental Council (GDC, Fitness to Practise) and is also undertaking research/ a PhD at Radboud College, Nijmegen, Netherlands in tooth wear. He is an examiner for BDS finals and postgraduate Masters courses and has co-authored 2 textbooks. Shamir is also a Facilitator for the FGDP(UK) Preparing for Fellowship programme.
