Biography

Dr. Shuvajit Saha is a medical doctor who completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Edinburgh, UK. His research interests focus on investigating the etiology and consequences of chronic diseases, including cardiometabolic conditions and mental health disorders, using large-scale cohort studies and electronic health records. He has worked on large-scale birth cohort studies in Bangladesh focusing on maternal and newborn health, funded by the Johns Hopkins University and the University of Edinburgh.

From January 2023 to August 2025, he worked as a Visiting Researcher at the Usher Institute, University of Edinburgh, where his research focused on cardiometabolic diseases and mental health using multiple large-scale cohort datasets, including the UK Biobank and the Scottish Diabetes Research Network.

He is currently a Visiting Researcher in the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine at King’s College London, where his work investigates mental health and health-risk behaviors among sexual and ethnic minority adolescents using data from the Millennium Cohort Study.
