Biography

Sia Foday-Iscandari was a PhD student in the African Leadership Centre at King's.

Through leadership, narrative and socio-economic analysis, her research explores: the what (state-business relations); the why (fragile and low income); the when (post-conflict situations); the how (leadership processes and statebuilding) specific to political economy dynamics for West African environments experiencing instability.

Sia currently works as the Deputy Team Lead with Invest Salone, a private-sector development initiative promoting inclusive economic growth in Sierra Leone. Previously, she held the role of Director of Programs at Partners West Africa Nigeria, where she managed the citizen security and rule of law portfolios. With over 20 years of experience in development and financial services, she has held roles consulting for organisations like the World Bank and serving as Technical and Program Director on several USAID programs across West Africa.

Before this, she gained extensive experience in program management and business analysis while working for the Lloyds Banking Group. She holds an MBA from Nottingham Business School with a Diploma in Management Studies and a BSc (Hons) in Information Systems from Brunel University.
