Biography

Soha is a NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre PhD student at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King's College London. Soha joined King's College London in 2023 to pursue her MSc in Psychiatric Research after working for 3 years in the medical device industry and completing her BSc in Biomedical Engineering in the USA. Her PhD aims to determine if brain volume differences established in homogenous research populations of participants with psychoses and affective disorders can be translated to MRI scans of real-world clinical samples. She works with research datasets from ENIGMA (Enhancing Neuro Imaging Genetics through Meta Analysis) and Psy-ShareD (Psychosis MRI Shared Data Resource) and a real-world clinical sample of the SLaM (South London and Maudsley) NHS Trust. These findings have the potential to inform clinical utility of MRI as a neurodiagnostic tool for schizophrenia, depression, and bipolar disorders.
