Soumajit joined the research group of Michael Malim in the Department of Infectious Diseases as a postdoctoral researcher. He completed doctoral study in the Czech Republic focusing on multi-disciplinary topics, such as nanomedicine and molecular virology aiming to an effective restriction of HIV-1 infection. Following joining Malim lab, Soumajit is currently focusing on studying host-pathogen interactions and the crosstalk between different cellular proteins to mount effective immune responses against HIV. He is also involved in the screening and identification of naturally produced biomolecules in the secretome capable of inhibiting coronavirus infection.
