Biography

Stephen is a PhD student in Addictions supervised by Professor John Marsden and Professor Mitul Mehta. He joined King's College London in 2025 as a research assistant working on a phase 1 clinical trial within the neuropharmacology group. His doctoral project focuses on neural correlates of cocaine craving using fMRI in individuals with cocaine use disorder and how this translates to drug use and life functioning, and whether this can be altered following a pharmacological intervention.

He holds an MSc in Brain Imaging & Cognitive Neuroscience from from the University of Birmingham and a BSc in Psychology with Clinical Psychology from the University of Kent. He has previously worked as an assistant psychologist within the NHS in a community brain injury team and an older people's service.
