Svetoslav Nenov
Lecturer in Politics & Social Science
Biography
Svetoslav holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Manchester, an MA in sociology from Lancaster University, and a BA in integrated social sciences from Jacobs University, Germany. He has been an Advanced HE fellow since 2016.
Prior to working at King’s, Svetoslav taught on the Humanities Foundations programme at the Cambridge Education Group. Before that he was a Lecturer in International Relations and Sociology at Coventry University, and a Teaching Fellow in International Relations at SOAS University London.
Svetoslav’s research focuses on biopolitics, critical security studies, and radicalisation. He is currently using the Foucauldian concept of parrhesia to explore the social and (bio)political implications of the recently reframed discourses on immigration and abortion in the USA. In his spare time Svetoslav engages in heated gaming moments, consumes an unhealthy amount of political commentary, and enjoys science fiction books.
