Dr Tadek Markiewicz serves as the Alfred Landecker Lecturer at the Institute of Social Sciences, SWPS University in Warsaw. He is a scholar of international relations and a political psychologist. His project explores memory politics in Poland, focusing on Polish-Jewish relations within the broader context of global politics.

More broadly, Tadek’s research examines vulnerability and victimhood in state security practices. These themes are explored in his forthcoming book, The Vulnerability of Strong States (Bloomsbury). Tadek has an interdisciplinary background, drawing on both social psychology and critical security studies in his work. After studying in Poland and Israel, he completed his PhD in International Conflict Analysis at the University of Kent. He later held a postdoctoral research fellowship at Uppsala University (Uppsala Centre for Holocaust and Genocide Studies).

His work has been published in Political Psychology, International Studies Quarterly, International Affairs, Contemporary Politics, and International Studies Perspectives. He also contributed to International Affairs. Before taking up the Alfred Landecker Lectureship, Tadek was awarded a Jacques Rozenberg Research Grant and a Conny Kristel Fellowship.
