Tao Wang is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Department of Biostatistics & Health Informatics at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. From 2015 to 2018, he received a full scholarship from the UK's Economic and Social Research Council to pursue his PhD at the University of Southampton and The Alan Turing Institute, with an exchange period at the University of Western Australia. 

Since 2019, he has been based at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. He also holds honorary research positions at several leading UK hospitals and serves as a member of King's Institute for Artificial Intelligence, and Meta/Facebook's Global Safety Policy Advisory Board on mental health.

Dr. Wang's research focuses on the development of Natural Language Processing, Network Science, Multimodal Data Modelling and Artificial Intelligence technologies, and their applications in healthcare, public health, sociology, and law.
