Biography

Todd Karhu is a Lecturer in Philosophy at at The Dickson Poon School of Law.

Before joining the College in 2022, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University. He received his PhD in Philosophy from the London School of Economics. He also holds a BA from University College Maastricht and an MPhil from the University of Oxford.

Research interests

  • The ethics of harm and compensation, especially as it connects to the moral foundations of tort law.
  • The ethics, law, and politics of emerging technology.
  • The ethics of killing, especially as it connects to philosophical questions about the nature of death and personhood.
