Biography

Tracy Yu is a final year PhD student in Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine in Dr. Eileen Gentleman’s Group at King’s College London, UK. In which, she is leading a multidisciplinary project that involves both researchers in biomaterials and scientists from chemistry and biology.

Her main research interest is about exploring the mechanisms of mechanotransduction on directing cell behaviour, such as stem cell differentiation, for advanced regenerative therapy applications. During her PhD, Tracy co-founded and chaired (2015 Nov – 2018 Jan) the Business Plan Competition & Pre-Accelerator Programme at TERMIS-EU (Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine International Society Europe Chapter). In which, 19 start-ups have benefited from this programme and one third of these start-ups are still thriving today. In 2017, Tracy got enrolled and completed a three-month part-time business management & entrepreneurship programme (London Ignite 2017) at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

After one year of part-time internship at a consulting firm (providing consulting & transactional services to biotech and pharma), she now works at Merck KGaA (Darmstadt, Frankfurt Am Main Area, Germany) and supports Merck’s Global Innovation Program – Innospire, the largest global Innovation Campaign at Merck.
