Trevor is a Senior Lecturer in international finance law at the Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London and leads our LLM international finance law pathway. He was previously a lecturer at the School of Law, University of Leeds and a Teaching Fellow at University College London. Trevor is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

For many years Trevor was a partner of the international law firm, Linklaters, specialising in international finance law. He spent time based in the London, Hong Kong and Singapore offices of the firm.

Trevor's research focus is the field of international finance and corporate law, and the lawyers and law firms that practice in this sector. Trevor's PhD, undertaken at University College London, explored the legal aspects of the financing of international private equity-backed leveraged buyouts and he has published extensively in the area of international finance law, corporate law and the legal ethics of lawyers who work in international law firms.

Trevor is the articles editor of the academic journal, Legal Ethics, and regularly presents papers at domestic and international conferences on financial and corporate law and legal profession topics. Trevor frequently contributes to important public debates. For example, he was interviewed by the FCA, and IOSCO, as part of an investigation into market transparency in the private equity and leveraged finance sectors. Trevor has also been interviewed for and cited in multiple articles in national newspapers and financial industry news outlets, including, ‘The Powerful City Lawyer at the Centre of a Private Equity Storm’ (Bloomberg, February 2023) and ‘London Lawfare: How Lawyers Helped Russia’s Super Rich’ (Financial Times, May 2022). Trevor has also written, and been interviewed for and cited in, multiple articles in the legal services industry-focussed press, for example, ‘Buying to Sell’ (about private equity-focussed lawyers and law firms) The Law Society Gazette, August 2023); and ‘Ethically Dysfunctional: The Problem with Designation in Leveraged Finance’ (a sole-authored opinion piece, The Lawyer, October 2022).

Trevor currently has capacity to take on PhD supervisions.
