Biography
Dr Violeta Perez-Rodriguez joined King's College London in 2024 after years of working as a consultant psychiatrist within the NHS. Having studied in the universities of Santiago de Compostela and Sorbonne Paris Nord, Violeta trained as a psychiatrist at Vall d'Hebron Hospital, Barcelona, prior to moving to the UK in 2019. She holds a Master's Degree in Sytemic Therapy and has extensive clinical experience in treating both adults and children and adolescents. Violeta's research focuses on understanding the role of brain antioxidants, specifically glutathione, in the pathophysiology of psychosis, using MRI and EEG. She is interested in immunopsychiatry, and the areas of overlap between metabolism and mental health. Violeta is passionate about promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in research and is a CEDI representative within the Department of Psychosis Studies.
