Dr Jessica Jin is a Teaching Fellow in Public Health at King’s College London. She holds a PhD in Human Nutritional Sciences from the University of Reading and has an academic background spanning public health, global health, and nutrition. Prior to joining King’s, she was a Senior Lecturer in Nutrition at De Montfort University, where she also served as Deputy, and later as Programme Leader, for the BSc (Hons) Nutrition programme—leading curriculum innovation, academic mentoring, and external engagement. She has taught and led the development of modules across a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in nutrition, global health, and medical science.
Her research interests include public health nutrition, food insecurity, malnutrition prevention, chronic disease prevention and management, and healthy ageing. She has led UK-based and international projects addressing malnutrition across the life course, health inequalities, the wider determinants of health, and dietary behaviour change. In addition to her academic work, she brings industry experience in nutrition and digital health, having led innovation in product development and the design of culturally tailored dietary interventions. Dr Jin is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is committed to inclusive, research-led teaching and learning.
