Biography
"Hello, I’m Yasita, the Student Wellbeing Administrator. I work closely with the Wellbeing Advice Senior Officer to support the day-day operations of the Wellbeing Team, ensuring students are signposted to Faculty Advisors and receive the support they need to thrive. I joined King’s in 2025, bring experience from roles in Student Engagement, Student Administration and recently as a Personal Tutor.
I’m all about ensuring that everyone I interact with feels heard, valued and supported. I am passionate about supporting students from diverse backgrounds, being a first-generation immigrant myself, I relate to the experience of navigating the complexities of adapting to a new culture while trying to succeed in your studies. I also draw on my experience of discovering my neurodivergence as an adult, which all fuels my commitment to supporting students with intersecting identities.
My professional and personal interests lie in improving access to support services. I’ve led a project at SOAS focused on early intervention strategies for PhD students and presented at the Advance HE Conference 2021 on embedding race equality in support services. My MSc research explored closing the mental health outcome gaps between ethnic minority groups and their white counterparts in London.
I love reading and long walks when I’m in introvert-mode. I’m a big kid at heart and enjoy diving into new hobbies – next up rock climbing, perfume making or maybe swimming!"
