Yiying He is pursuing a PhD at Department of Engineering at KIng's College London under the supervision of Dr Miao Guo (Department of Engineering) and Dr Alex Brogan (Department of Chemistry).

Her research is focusing on resource recovery from soft drink wastewater through biotechnologies, such as anaerobic digestion and microbial fermentation. Her research integrates chemical analyses, computational modelling, and mathematical optimisation, developing a decision-making tool to pick up an optimal recovery pathway.

Yiying is a graduate of B.E. New Energy Science and Technology at Xiamen University (2016-2020), M.Eng Green Chemistry at Imperial College London (2020-2021), and joined King's in Dr Miao Guo's  Group in October 2021.
