Her aim is to provide valuable insights for both patients and healthcare practitioners. While her study is still in progress, she is committed to applying her academic knowledge to address real-world issues and contribute to the understanding and support of individuals dealing with depression.

Thesis title: A Cross-Cultural Study of Young Adults' Experiences of Post-Pandemic Depression in the UK and China

Abstract: Yuan's PhD research focuses on how young adults in the UK and China express their experiences of depression both linguistically and cognitively in the post-pandemic era. The study explores the cultural factors that may influence the similarities and differences in these expressions. This interdisciplinary research combines cognitive linguistics and sociolinguistics, aiming to provide valuable insights for both patients and healthcare practitioners.
