
Biography
Dr Yuya Mizuno is a psychiatrist and postdoctoral researcher based at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London. He received his MD and PhD qualifications at Keio University School of Medicine in Japan, and joined the IoPPN in 2016. He is passionate about improving the care of people with schizophrenia, with areas of expertise including psychopharmacology, neuroimaging (PET/MRI), neuroimmunology, and resilience. His postdoctoral work has been supported by fellowship awards from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Canon Foundation in Europe, and Japanese Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology. Dr Mizuno has received multiple competitive awards including the CINP Rafaelsen Young Investigator Award in 2025.

- Neurobiology and management of treatment-resistant schizophrenia
- Clinical psychopharmacology, particularly with an interest in repurposing medications for psychosis
