Shengmin joined King's College London in October 2024 as a PhD student at the Department of Psychosis Studies. She previously completed her MSc at Peking University and undergraduate medical degree at Southern Medical University in China.

Her research focuses on DNA methylation as a potential biomarker linking environmental exposures to psychosis vulnerability and disease progression, supervised by Professor Sir Robin Murray, Dr Evangelos Vassos, and Dr Chloe Wong.
