Zicheng Zhang currently works as a research assistant at the Department of Nutritional Sciences, School of Life Course and Population Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine at King's College London.She started working on the chemical analysis and the bioactivity of anthocyanins and polyphenols in 2013 before starting her PhD in King’s, and does research in bioaccessibility of phytochemicals during mastication, gastrointestinal digestion, and colonic fermentation with Dr Ana Rodriguez-Mateos, Prof. Peter Ellis and Dr. Balazs Bajka. She is currently working on a joint project with University of Roehampton about the combination effect of (poly)phenols and probiotics on the menopausal symptoms in postmenopausal women.
