Course features

Here's what this course looks like in practice:

  • Full UX/UI skillset: From user research and journey mapping through to prototyping in Figma, visual design, UX writing and AI-assisted design – covering the skills that show up in every product design job description.

  • Practical, project-based learning: Every course is built around hands-on projects based on real-world scenarios. In the final six weeks, you'll work with a team of peers to solve a genuine design challenge set by an employer partner – such as Creative Navy, Salient Bioscience or DocuSign – and add the work to your portfolio.

  • 1:1 career coaching: An experienced Career Coach works with you from day one – CV reviews, interview prep, career planning – and continues coaching you after the programme ends until you reach your next goal – whether a promotion or your next move.

Course 1 – Understanding users

Explore the importance of product design in organisational strategy, frame problem statements through product discovery, conduct effective user research and create data-driven user journey maps. Acquire the technical and human skills at the core of the UX role – from research methodologies and analytical frameworks to empathy, active listening and stakeholder communication.

Course 2 – Designing for user needs

Explore the iterative processes that shape the creation of wireframes and prototypes. Learn how product designers collaborate within Agile teams to discover, visualise, test and refine ideas. Build expertise in user flows, information architecture and interaction design principles to craft accessible and meaningful user experiences.

Course 3 – User-centred optimisation

Design and build high-fidelity prototypes in Figma and prepare them for design-to-development handoff. Learn optimisation techniques using data and user feedback, explore emerging trends in UX writing and visual design, and develop a high-impact product design portfolio.

Course 4 – Employer Project

Bring together everything you've learnt. Work with a team of peers on a real-world design challenge set by an employer partner – every deliverable and decision mirrors the professional environment. Present your work in industry-aligned formats with feedback from employer partners and industry experts.

AI training throughout: Explore AI advancements in weekly live sessions with your facilitator – covering AI for productivity, user research, visual and UI design and the evolving product development process. By the end, you'll be a confident, AI-literate product designer who knows when and how to use AI tools effectively.
