This is a work-based learning module providing an academic assessment opportunity for students undertaking an online neonatal course. Tutorial support for the assessment will be provided through webinars, MS Teams and other forms of e-communication.

Course features
This course is available at both Level 6 and Level 7. Please ensure you apply for the appropriate Level (you need to provide evidence of a BSc Hons degree to study at Level 7).
Learning outcomes
Through completing the written assessment students will have the opportunity to:
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and a critical understanding of the care of neonates and their families.
- Show advanced understanding of the application of this knowledge to safe patient management and autonomous care provision.
- Further develop Level 7 academic skills including critical thinking and academic writing.
Entry requirements
Students must be NMC registered nurses or midwives with a minimum of one year neonatal experience. They must also be taking the QIS neonatal nursing programme.
