Quantum Computing for Professionals
Science & Engineering
Course overview
This module provides a broad overview of quantum computing and its various forms and realisations. We provide an overview of available programming paradigms, frameworks for quantum computing. We provide basic concepts and hands-on examples of major forms quantum algorithm. These include basic algorithms for fault-tolerant quantum computing, as well as adiabatic and variational algorithms. From the last category we provide a more in-depth treatment of quantum machine learning due to its popularity.

Our expertise
King’s Quantum features world-class interdisciplinary expertise in quantum computing. Our expertise ranges from research strength in the foundations of quantum computing (e.g., in quantum and hybrid quantum-classical algorithms, and error correction) to applied quantum software engineering (e.g., in quality assurance, testing and debugging of quantum, hybrid, and quantum machine learning software).
Entry requirements
This program is designed for industry professionals in science, technology, engineering, and related fields such as public policy and finance, who are looking to deepen their understanding of quantum computing and its applications. It is also ideal for individuals with a general interest in emerging technologies and with interest in programming and machine learning. Some basic affinity with programming languages such as Python would be helpful.
