On completion of the module students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of a variety of research designs and their applications.
  • Recognise the ethical principles in nursing research from both a social and individual perspective.
  • Read and interpret qualitative and quantitative research data.
  • Identify and establish ways to enhance rigour in research designs.
  • Systematically appraise research evidence for decision making in clinical practice.
