Culinary nutrition is an emerging research area that focuses on the science and practice of healthy cooking, taking an interdisciplinary approach including nutrition, food science, culinary arts, movement science, gastronomic science. Cooking and food skills (the broader food skills that enable healthy cooking such as shopping, food budgeting, resourcefulness, etc.) have been associated with diet quality and wellbeing and are used as prevention strategies for noncommunicable diseases. Our research involves developmental, observational and  interventional studies.
