The Diabetes, Psychiatry, & Psychology Research Group is a multidisciplinary team. The group is part of the Psychological Medicine Department at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) and Diabetes Clinical Academic Groups of King's Health Partners (KHP), crossing the interface between psychiatry and medicine.
The group has a unique and internationally recognised collaboration with the Diabetes Research Group at KHP.

What is this series about?
This is a live webinar series, the aim of which is to provide a virtual space for people with diabetes to share their experiences of living with diabetes during COVID-19 and to provide a toolkit of self-help materials. Hosted by Professor Khalida Ismail, Dr Rebecca Upsher, and Emma Konstantara from Diabetes, Psychiatry & Psychology research group (King's College London) who will interview people living with diabetes and diabetes healthcare professionals every session. There will be opportunities for interaction before, during, and after by encouraging the diabetes community to send in questions and points of view, which we will share virtually.
- Who is it for?
This is for people with diabetes, but also their family and friends and all healthcare professionals working in diabetes settings in primary and secondary care who may find it helpful. - What is the purpose/aim?
This is to help people look after their diabetes while in lockdown, shielding, or self-isolation, to give them a sense of a community of support, to give them a sense that their psychological experiences are validated by others, to share their experiences of overcoming barriers to self-management. - When?
