Addressing the world's most pressing environmental challenges.
Who we are
We come from all the Arts and Humanities departments at King’s and our research relates in different ways to questions of the environment, climate and the Anthropocene. We have ties to researchers in Environmental Humanities at UNSW, Sydney, and Arizona State University, through the PLuS Alliance. We also collaborate with the King’s Climate Research Hub, which brings together climate research in Social Science and Public Policy.
What we do
The thematic interests of our Network are wide ranging, including mining and extraction, the elements (especially air and water), forests and deforestation, botany and aesthetics, and extinction and palaeontology. We organise public-facing and Faculty-wide lectures, book launches and seminars (see Events). We also arrange smaller-scale conversations on teaching and research to enable collaboration between network members (see Activities). Network members have also led a number of Environmental Humanities-related funded research projects and collaborations (see Projects).
