Interdisciplinary collaboration in Material Science

Addressing the influence of the molecular dipole moment in a systematic way will give us the key to understand the mechanisms of spin selectivity observed in chiral molecules. This will lead us to a rational methodology to design hybrid electrode/molecule interfaces using chiral molecular systems for room-temperature spintronics applications. The concepts learnt here will also help boost understanding the role of homochiral motifs recurrently exploited in biological systems.
