Maria Eugenia Sanz's group looks at how biomolecular conformation plays a fundamental role in biological processes such as molecular recognition. The group is interested in elucidating how small biologically relevant molecules modify their structures (typically a mixture of conformations, tautomers, or isomers) upon interaction with water or other biomolecules. The group applies high resolution spectroscopic techniques in combination with molecular modelling to characterise biomolecular structures and interactions.
